I have never been, so it was quite exciting to see what all the buzz was about for their famed lobster mash, amazing cuts of steak and decadent butter cake. Strangely, I didn't experience any of this, but the dinner was still worth it and totally memorable that I wouldn't mind coming back yearly, or like, whenever.
Girls' Night Out - Dinner & Museum in LA to view the Yayoi Kusama: Infinity Mirror exhibit. It was a rough waiting game to secure the tickets, but we were able to secure our spot for the after hours viewing at 8pm on December 23. If you get a chance to see, definitely make time to go! If not, you can view my adventure here :)
I love noodles, but I haven't delved too heavily into ramen until now! The boyfriend has been going through ramen cravings, so whenever he's hit with an insatiable appetite, I'm there for the adventure. We had to run some errands in El Monte, but he wanted to try this spot out.
I've definitely had my eye on this spot for awhile, so when my brother was craving pizza, I knew just the spot to try. We arrived to a packed house on a Friday evening, but decided to wait it out at the bar for an open table. Once seated, we thought we knew what we wanted until we heard the daily special of the day. Read more to see what we got!
sushi is one of my favorite meals and when cravings hit, I had to have it. Although I was unfamiliar with the area, Yelp helped me find my way to Kamon Sushi. I was hungry, so I ordered A LOT of food thinking the sushi would be the standard cut. I was willing to pay anything, so I just ordered up.
The last leg of the journey is upon us and although we didn't have a concrete itinerary planned out, we managed to get through a lot for the day. From viewing the city from above in Mount Royal to exploring Old Montreal, we passed through several landmarks. And we definitely didn't skip out on food either!
And we're back at it again! Another day, another adventure. Weather has been hot and humidity in Montreal was no joke, but we were out the door around 10AM to head out to Mile End for some bagel tasting and shopping.
Second day into Montreal and luck was on our side for this trip. Sunday was free museum day for select exhibits, so we spent the whole day hitting up a few locations. After breakfast, we set foot toward Musee des Beaux Arts de Montreal, where we ended up spending half our day exploring.
From San Diego to Detroit to Montreal, we touched down in Canada about 8-9 hours later. From the airport, we hopped on a bus and went through the subway system to reach Jean-Talon, where we checked into our Airbnb for the next 5 days. As with all new adventures, the exploration begins.
With half a day left in Boston, we had a few places on our hit list before we headed to the airport. We woke up to another day of snowy forecast, but that didn't stop us from making the most of our time here. Last day in Boston, but there's still plenty of things to do and see.
It's been awhile since I've posted, but I'm glad to hop back on to share with you some favorites from Stonefire Grill. I was invited to a media tasting a few weeks ago and shared a meal among friends, local bloggers and influencers. It was fun to rediscover some popular items, especially considering it's been a few years since I've eaten here.
Organized by The Orange County Asian & Pacific Island Community Alliance (OCAPICA), Tastemakers of OC took place at the premier destination, SOCO & The OC Mix, and brought together renowned chefs across Orange County to celebrate the heritage and culture of the API community through taste samplings. Although this trip was originally intended for Yelp's Spring Break events throughout the weekend, many steps were taken around San Diego. I walked around 18k steps! From brunch to attending the Yelp Carnival and even hitting the gym, I made the most of my day exploring San Diego. Read more for the goods.
Another one checked off the list for OC Restaurant Week! It's always fun trying some place new, but even more so with friends who are willing to ride the adventure with you. Although Wednesdays are usually reserved for my weekly tradition of wine, the group decided to venture out for dinner instead.
It's that time of the year again friends! The perfect time to try all the restaurants you've heard, seen or bookmarked for the past year with offerings at a solid deal. It's truly a celebrated week of good eats, so kicking off this year, I decided to share one of my favorite spots with my brother and of course, with you!
The Gudetama x Curry House collaboration has finally landed across all restaurant locations and I couldn't be more excited to check it out. Since I learned about Gudetama, I have been mesmerized by the lazy egg and have collected many items with its lovely face. So of course, this is no exception!
I know it's been a few weeks (ok, maybe few months) without an update, but I was out of the country on vacation. It was right around Christmas when I left, but Popcorn Chicken was the last meal I ate in the US before the new year. Here's what I had before I left for my 2.5 week excursion to Vietnam. I'll have a recap soon!
This post is a bit delayed, but after experiencing this BrewHop Tour Bus during Halloween weekend, I had to share how awesome it was. For anyone interested in craft beers around Orange County, this is one tour you should definitely try with friends for a night on the town or any special event you may have.
Having been to the Miramar location, I was ecstatic to find that Ballast Point opened up a Kitchen and Taps location in Long Beach, which cuts down my drive to location by half! With three bar taps and two outdoor patio spaces on floor level & upstairs, this location boasts a seasonal menu for both brews and food.
Since my friend has developed an interest in wines after watching the Netflix documentary, SOMM, wine tasting was a whole new world to explore. It was without question that I would join him on his quest to understand wine a little better and Vino Nostra was the perfect find from beginners to enthusiasts alike. And...it didn't just stop at wine.
